Walls

Walls

From the simple to the complex, Heartland Gardens can take care of whatever your needs may be. Walls should last decades not just a few years. When having one constructed it is important to make sure that a quality job will be done and every measure is followed to ensure the integrity of such a structure. There are many questions that should be asked of a contractor when it comes to installing your wall.

  • Who are your suppliers? Heartland Gardens uses local, trusted and established suppliers that make quality wall installation materials. We always use wall block that is made with integrity in mind, so it will last for years to come. A variety of colors, sizes and patterns can be chosen by you to compliment your home landscape and achieve the goals you have in mind.
  • What do you plan on using for installation materials? This is important, so that shortcuts are not taken. A certain depth of base is required according to the wall’s height. Every block laid needs this base for ensured stability. A separate material for backfill should be used to make sure water runoff will not compromise the constructed wall. We use a clean, ¾” limestone that is universally accepted as a quality drain material. Your wall should not buckle due to runoff.
  • Are there alternatives to block walls? Yes, you are not limited to block. In some instances, boulders or ties can be used instead. We have used all of these materials in the past and would be glad to help you with your project.
  • Do I need Geogrid fabric? Brad has the required experience to know when Geogrid is needed. In some instances, when the wall is of a certain height, it may be needed. We have worked with it in the past and know how to properly install it.
  • What about water runoff? Heartland Gardens takes great care when using backfill so that there is enough clearance between earth and the block. Water should properly drain in between and filter down as to not cave in the wall.
  • Are you a certified wall installer?  Brad is certified by The National Concrete and Masonry Association (NCMA).

You should be able to trust that the person who is designing and installing your wall will construct something that will last the test of time. At Heartland Gardens, we pride ourselves in doing so. Give us a call to see if we can help with your project at (402) 707-3218.
